HOMELESSNESS WHAT'S BEING DONE?

Homelessness happens to people.  It happens to the young and old.  It plagues the wealthy and poor alike.  Can make good people bad and bad people good.  Worst of all it can break a persons soul and spirit in mind and body to face such tragic events in ones life.  Some Homeless are fortunate and some are forced out on to the mean streets.  Many Homeless can or could of been your neighbor or friend or grew up with you.  Homeless people are voters they are people of this nation.  Some turn to substance abuse but other try to be more they try to not let homelessness break them and sustain their own hope by looking towards a brighter future that might be far away in the future.

In San Diego California I saw this happen to people on a biblical scale.  Economic down turn they called it.  A new US President didn't understand government contracts and thought it was wasteful government spending and shut down those contracts.  Closing down jobs and large portions of struggling economies by removing their source of funding and the jobs that came with those government contracts.  Millions forced onto the mean streets.  There wasn't a single highway median clear of someone struggling trying to find hope.  There where young families that just started out with babies and infants on those corners to the highway.  Putting their own families at risk and in harms way just to ask for money.

So many highly skilled and qualified people forced to compete with struggling small businesses.  That even my small business designing systems for power boats, sail boats and ocean going yachts felt the impact and struggled to provide for my own family as a result of an Economic Down Turn.  I was taking low paying jobs trying to etch out a meager living.

Homelessness is one of the hardest and harshest experiences in life for anyone.  Like I said it can break a persons spirit and make them go bad.  Getting them back into society is not easy and many get stuck forever in homelessness as their mental fortitude crumbles.

Many Homeless have good educations, degrees, and valid experience the rival of any phd or doctorate.  None of it matters if their spirit is gone or fortitude crumbles and they lose all hope.

Northglenn and the City can make a difference.  As Mayor I look forward to assisting the issue of homelessness and seeing what can be done to promote a better environment for healthy recovery from the condition of Homelessness.  Adams County and the State of Colorado will be called upon and services will be improved.  Even the Federal Government will be held accountable for the economic downturn that resulted in the drastic increase of Homelessness.

I found these sites doing what they can for the Homeless in Northglenn. Just a couple there are more.

Update: 09/06/2019

These sites are a little old but do have some relevant information.  So far working on this issue I have soon realized that Northglenn no longer has resources available and there is a growing homeless situation in Northglenn.  I think it's unacceptable and makes me not happy with the so called promises some other candidates have claimed and never delivered.  I as Mayor of Northglenn will make a difference because we can't as a great city leave the homeless without access to phones or internet services that will prove critical to their survival.  Time is short and a homeless person needs a quicker means to access help.

Update 09/06/2019 In my personal research on this growing problem in Northglenn.  I have found these numbers currently work.  Better to use this than the websites.

Cold Weather Care, Opens in October 2019 about 2.5 miles in Westminster address not confirmed yet but call 303-847-9072.

Community Reach Center located at 8989 Huron Street, Thornton, Co. Phone 303-853-3500.  They are open 8 to 5 Monday's to Fridays and able to do in take interviews for those who arrive early enough.

Update 09/06/2019:  These places are far away from Northglenn and almost half the distance of a Walk-a-thon.  Half a days walk for a homeless person.  Community Center telling the Homeless they are trespassing and can't use a phone.  How can a homeless person be denied a phone call?  Can't even get access to a computer and for some reason they are unable to help themselves to programs to get them back into society.  The Anythink Library offered help but they too are not in Northglenn and a far walk away.  Northglenn needs to change and needs to reach out and help fix, I mean actually do something to help those in need.  As Mayor I'm the only choice this election because the other two had more time and spent it unwisely.

As Mayor I would like the opportunity to know more and see what more we can do with the parties committed to the task of Homelessness mitigation.  This is Crisis Emergency Management and if Northglenn wants to be a Sanctuary City then we must live up to expectations and prove we can care for our own.

Homelessness can not simply be solved by offering them work.  You have to remember that most of the Homeless did hold jobs, had homes and family and where providers.  Work and Jobs mean nothing if the real culprit was bad management or terrible leadership in the places they formally worked at.  Progressive employment standards need to end and the value of people needs to be restored.  Homeless people lose Trust.  It's the first thing they lose.  Trust is everything and when an employer like the US Government lets you down and betrays your trust.  Who do you Trust?

Vote Mark Philip Bromley for Mayor of Northglenn this year we need a change that will make a difference for the betterment of the city and those we can help.
